Conservation and life in Borneo

Baby love!

I try to be rational and emotionally detached when working with the bears, but a few minutes with Natalie turned me into a cuchi-cooing idiot. She is so adorable. Though completely wrong, it is understandable why some people would want one as a pet. It was a tragedy for her to lose her mother at such an early age, but Natalie is so lucky to be here where she can be looked after amongst the sights, sounds and smells of the Bornean rainforest that we hope to return her to.

I spent most of this afternoon mixing with other volunteers who have come from all over the world to contribute towards work at Sepilok. This left me feeling very positive; it’s uplifting to spend time with such great people.
